يتناول المقال بالدراسة الظاهرة المعرفية من وجهة نظر النصّ الخلدوني، مبيّناً حجمه الأساس داخل النص الكليّ وهيكلته، ثمّ ... محاولة فهم العملية التربوية وارتباط المنتج المعرفي بالسياقية الاجتماعية المنتجة له، ثمّ علاقة صانع المعرفة بمتلقيها ومقتضيات ذلك فكرياً وواقعياً، ليعرج بعد ذلك على التعليم والعمران والانتماء العرقي مبيناً الاختلاف في مستويات التحصيل بين المشرق والمغرب، وأخيراً تصنيف العلوم ونقدها وأبعادها التأثيرية، كلّ ذلك من خلال مقارنة المقاربة الخلدونية بالطروحات التربوية الحديثة.
